D’Angelo Set To Release A New Album

According to the Rolling Stone R&B legend, D’Angelo is reportedly hard at work creating a new album. The magazine had the pleasure of interviewing musical great and D’Angelo’s longtime collaborator, Raphael Saadiq, who confirmed the news. He states, “D’s in a good space,” Saadiq says on the new episode of the Rolling Stone Music Now podcast. “He’s excited. He’s like, ‘you gotta play bass. I’ve got this track. I’m telling you, you got to get on it. It got your name all over it.’ … He’s working on six pieces right now and he seems super excited.”

This project will be the follow-up to his last album ‘Black Messiah,’ released in 2014. To highlight, D’Angelo was vocal with Rolling Stone, expressing his eagerness to share more music with fans. “I do want to put a lot of music out there,” he informed the magazine in 2015. 

Raphael Saadiq revealed D’Angelo will possibly be sharing music recorded by Linwood Rose, a short-lived super-group that featured Saadiq, Q-tip, and D’Angelo on the upcoming album.
