Bubbles, the famous chimpanzee who once captured the hearts of fans alongside Michael Jackson, is now 41 years old and residing in Florida. Though his stardom has faded, his story remains a fascinating chapter in the legacy of the late pop icon.

Born in a biomedical lab, Bubbles was separated from his mother at a young age and placed in the care of a Hollywood trainer, who later gifted him to Jackson. The chimp quickly became a favorite, showcasing his playful personality in various television shows, movies, and music videos with the King of Pop.

As he matured, it became clear that Bubbles was no longer fit for the entertainment scene. He was “retired” to California animal sanctuary, and in 2005, he found a permanent home at the Center of Great Apes, where he joined other former performer chimps.
