Shannon Sharpe Admits He Accidentally Joined IG Live During Private Act With Woman (Video)
Shannon Sharpe has acknowledged and taken responsibility for inadvertently appearing on Instagram Live while interacting privately with a woman. Additionally, he has clarified the “hacked” message that was shared from his Instagram account in the hours following the incident.
Video Goes Viral
On Wednesday (Sept. 11), screen-recorded clips emerged on various social media platforms, depicting two individuals involved in an intimate moment. These clips were sourced from an Instagram Live session on Shannon Sharpe’s account, although they did not reveal the identities of the individuals involved. Instead, the visual content appeared to show an obscured surface, while the audio featured sounds of intimacy and related conversation.
Following the widespread circulation of the clips, a statement was posted on Shannon’s Instagram Stories, asserting that his account had been compromised and that his team was investigating the matter. The statement was signed “Unc.”
A Tough Conversation
The former athlete and host would later directly address the incident that evening on his podcast, ‘Night Cap’ with co-host Chad Ochocinco. He admitted to viewers he was indeed the male voice heard on the IG Live, expressing embarrassment. He also confirmed nobody hacked his page, as it was previously reported. Sharpe also stated he always tries to maintain professionalism everywhere he goes, including behind closed doors.
“Obviously, I’m embarrassed someone that is extremely, extremely private and to have one of your most intimate details, the audio heard for the entire world to hear, I’m embarrassed for a number of reasons. People count on Shannon to be professional at all times,” Shannon said to Chad.
He clarified the incident was not staged.
“This was not staged. Came in I threw my phone on the bed, engaged in an activity. I did not know IG Live, I’ve never been on IG Live, I’ve never turned IG Live on,” Shannon Sharpe added. “So I don’t know how it works. All of a sudden, my other phone is going off and people are calling me, FaceTime that I’ve never talked to a day in my life.”
Shannon Sharpe claimed he reacted swiftly once learning of the live stream. He immediately contacted his employer, ESPN.TMZ reported that ESPN isn’t going to discipline the star for his accidental livestream. It seems they appreciate his honesty.
