Tamar Braxton is speaking out after video footage of her show at Black Gay Pride in Atlanta hit the web. Her vocal skills were discussed on social media after a video clip of her live performance at the Pride event this week in Atlanta went viral. A user uploaded the footage of the singer’s performance to the X platform with an unfavorable statement saying, “Not The Universe Swinging Back At Tamar Braxton For Calling Kandi Burruss Billy Goat Voice Last Year & Now She Went To A Festival With Vocals Winded & Fried To The Mic,” causing a debate surrounding Tamar’s singing abilities among those who viewed the video. Many fans expressed disappointment, seemingly alleging Tamar’s vocal delivery could have been better. Others came to her defense highlighting videos of Tamar Braxton displaying stellar vocals throughout her career and tours.

Tamar Speaks Out

The Shade Room reposted the video to their Instagram platform alongside a photo of Braxton smiling with rapper Da Brat and her wife, BB Judy, at the event, leaving users to argue their opinions about her vocals in the post’s comment section. Tamar Braxton spoke out regarding the footage, writing the following response, “No, I didn’t have an off day!! Play all the way home ) I was dancing right before that and couldn’t catch my breath…. I’m not gone let, y’all play with me like that”.  

To conclude, there’s absolutely no question about whether Tamar Braxton, the youngest sister of music icon Toni Braxton, can sing. In our opinion, every vocalist is entitled to having a shaky day. We can also point out that The Shaderoom’s journalist, Justin Carter, came to her defense in the comment section as he attended the event. Debunking rumors that Tamar lost her natural spark, he stated, ‘Aht aht! I was there front row! She sounded great to me live. The sound system was also over-modulated as well.’
