Florida Uber Eats Driver Arrested For Child Neglect:
A Florida man was arrested and faces child neglect charges after his autistic non-verbal son was found roaming unclothed alongside a busy interstate entrance ramp as he made food deliveries for Uber Eats. The suspect, Jeremy Rouse, 35, allegedly told officers he was aware his son had exited his vehicle; however, he continued his Uber Eats route to maintain a good rating, according to FOX 35 news.
Witnesses Speak Out:
This blatant disregard for his son’s safety led to a serious incident. Although the child’s age has not been revealed to the public, two bystanders reportedly saved him before he could run into oncoming traffic on Interstate 4.
“I was running pretty fast,” rescuer Jamie Cabell told the local TV station. “Anything could’ve happened in a matter of seconds because cars were zooming by,” she said.

“It was like we were running a quarter-mile run, and I had to catch this kid. I’m not going to let him go out into traffic. I have to save him,” Alexandre Thomas-Brown, the second witness, said.
Boys Mother Also In Car:
The young boy’s mother allegedly claimed she fell asleep in the passenger seat as his father delivered food. Once she awoke, she noticed the car was strangely quiet, turned around to search for the child, and saw he was missing from his seat, then contacted authorities. According to Fox 35, police stated Rouse allegedly told them he did not stop his car due to fear he’d be arrested on charges once returning to the scene. Reportedly, the father has since been released on bond following his arrest, and DCF has opened up a case; no charges were filed against the mother, who was not involved in the incident.
