Today’s music pick we’ve added to our playlist is an RNB Neo-Soul husband-and-wife duo threetwenty.  The pair is making waves on social media with a new collective of listeners. The duo gained DJ Jay Erica’s attention from an ad promoting their viral track ‘The Light’ on Instagram. This particular record already had substantial momentum on Tik-Tok. Upon hearing the first few seconds of the song, you are drawn to their poise and nostalgic sound, reminiscent of the classic mid-late 90s Neo-Soul era.  One can assume from solely listening to the record without visual presentation this group is influenced by that genre.

Viewing the official video for ‘The Light’ confirmed these assumptions. In the visual available on Youtube, threetwenty dresses in signature 90s style baggy clothing attire. Paying an ode to the classic New York fashion trend of that decade. The female vocalist of the group dawns on a New York hoodie, black leather coat, baggy jeans, and timberland boots. Let’s not forget the duo two-stepping in front of a green screen, similar to the likes of the 90s Neo-Soul group Groove Theory in their music video ‘Tell Me.’
In conclusion, the lower-quality look blends perfectly with the overall 90s neo-sound threetwenty creates.
