Lizzo: Judge Dismisses Claims Made Against Her By Ex-Stylish

Pop star Lizzo won a significant victory in court this week. The lawsuit brought against the singer’s Grrrl Big Tour company by a former employee was dismissed on Monday.

According to Page Six, Asha Daniels, an ex-stylist for Lizzo tour company, filed a lawsuit in September 2023 with accusations of racial and sexual harassment by co-workers on Lizzo’s management squad. She also made claims of being forced to work in a hostile work environment and unpaid overtime.

The judge presiding over the case in California ruled to grant partial dismissal on several of the plaintiff’s claims because Daniels performed her work duties with Lizzo on tour overseas in Europe, where US labor laws are not applicable.

Judge Fernando L. Aenlle-Rocha dismissed the case due to a lack of evidence proving she accrued overtime while doing wardrobe design for Lizzo’s tour.

Lizzo Fought Back

Upon the suit filed by her former employee, Lizzo fought the accusations. She submitted an objection to the Los Angeles Superior Court denying the claims in December 2023. Firing back by stating the lawsuit was a “meritless and salacious action after less than three weeks of employment.” Alleging Daniels “refused to comply with supervisors and tour management instructions.

A source close to the situation told The Post that Lizzo won’t stop fighting the “false” allegations made against her.

“There’s a reason that Lizzo continues to fight long after most public figures would have settled – because these allegations are false and can’t be allowed to stand,” the insider told The Post. “She is not going to stop fighting until every single one of these ridiculous smears is dismissed.”
