Ambre: i do this sh*t in my sleep – Music Review
Roc Nation’s Grammy-winning, artist New Orleanian native Ambre, is ending the summer on a high note with the release of her latest EP project entitled “I do this sh*t in my sleep.” The overall sound of this EP is vibrantly relaxing. Ambre opens the tape up with the melodic track “You Don’t Know” ft. Alex Isley; the singer’s voices blend perfectly together, especially towards the peak ending of the collaborative track. Ambre’s silky smooth sound echoes into SWV, the second song on the EP. Ambre seemingly pays homage to the iconic RnB group SWV, chanting, ‘Rain down on me, throughout the track, an ode to the chorus of SWV’s hit record ‘Rain.’
Track 3, ‘Sideway,’ is another romanticized record with familiar inspiration in the chorus that true RNB lovers can recognize. The artist was seemingly inspired musically by Whitney Houston’s legendary hit song, ‘Saving All My Love For You,’ possibly producing this track.

Nothing Off Limits
The second half of the EP Ambre shows off her blossoming writing skills. Track 4, Perfect Timing, and track 5, LMK, display her more emotional side, discussing various relationship challenges.
Lastly, the final track on the EP, Outside, has an upbeat sound. I visualized the song could be in heavy rotation in nightclubs. One reason is that ‘Outside’ is the only record on EP with a distinct hip-hop flare. The track features a lyrical contribution by hip-hop artist Treety. It highlights explicitly Ambre and Treety, New Orleans culture.
