Andre 3000 & Sexyy Red Bond Over One Common Experience
Although from two different generations of hip-hop, rap icon Andre 3000 and Sexyy Red have more in common than meets the eye. Both artists bonded over one common experience during their conversation on LeBron James and Maverick Carter’s The Shop.

In a now-viral video clip, Sexyy Red expresses her experience of dealing with doubters and haters while building her rap career. She states, “Like, they still don’t believe in me, so I just be like, ‘I’m going to just show y’all.’ And like he said, they don’t be understanding. Like, we really came from nothing, and then we’re making a big achievement. It’s like, that’s something for us. And then they just be like, ‘you ain’t doing nothing.’ But for us, it’s like, ‘ain’t nobody doing this.”
Andre 3000 interjects as she speaks with encouraging words of wisdom. “Fuel, use it for fuel. Hater fuel, man. It’s the best shit. It’s free energy,” he exclaims.
Sexyy responds, “ I like when they talk about me.”
Andre 3000 further elaborates, “That’s free energy because that makes me go. That makes me go in. I love when somebody doubts you.“
“Mm-hmm, because now I’m finna show you something,” Sexyy Red agrees.
