Don Lemon Says Shows Partnership With X Ended Due to Spicy Interview with Elon Musk!

Fresh off of allegedly receiving $24 million dollars by his former employer CNN, due to his well publicized termination. Don Lemon continues the year with more wins after interviewing Tesla and X mogul Elon Musk. Lemon revealed he will be releasing the exclusive interview with Musk on his independent podcast “The Don Lemon Show”. Musk allegedly granted the journalist a one on one interview after Don Lemon reportedly intended on having a partnership with his platform X. A deal which according to Don Lemon quickly soured due to his intense interview with the mogul.

Here’s What Don Lemon Says Happened On His Show

Don Lemon reportedly claimed Musk originally expressed his support of Lemon’s platform and perspective. However, things took a turn for the worse allegedly due to the journalist line of questioning.

“Elon publicly encouraged me to join X with a new show, saying I would have his ‘full support,” Don said.

Lemon claimed Musk was allegedly “interested in working directly with diverse voices”. This perspective led to Lemon landing his interview with Musk. With Musk being his first guest on his upcoming show. He will premiere the interview independently on his YouTube channel. Also, Lemon reportedly still intends on releasing the interview on the social media platform despite the controversy.

The journalist describes the interview as “respectful and wide-ranging,” Don Lemon expressed that there were “no restrictions on the interview that [Elon] willingly agreed to.”

Lemon Says Elon Isn’t a Free Speech Absolutist

“Don stated that Elon seemed passionate about creating platforms where all citizens can exercise their right to free speech Don Lemon claims, that mindset may be limited to people who look a certain way.”

“His commitment to a global town square where all questions can be asked and all ideas can be shared seems not to include questions of him from people like me.”

Don took to Instagram on March 13 to challenge Musk’s claim to be a “free speech absolutist.” For context, that means he feels everyone should have the right to express themselves, whether you agree with the individual or not.

“Throughout our conversation, I kept reiterating to him, although it was tense at times, I thought it was good for people to see our exchange,” Don said.

He continued, “But apparently, free speech absolutism doesn’t apply when it comes to questions about him from people like me.”

A source told CNN Elon is salty that Don inquired about his use of the drug ketamine, antisemitism, and his government security clearance.”

X Released Statement Addressing Don Lemon’s Claims Regarding Canceled Partnership

Lastly, X has released a statement addressing all allegations from Don Lemon in defense of CEO Elon Musk.

“The ‘Don Lemon Show’ is welcome to publish its content on X, without censorship, as we believe in providing a platform for creators to scale their work and connect with new communities,” the statement read, per CNN. “However, like any enterprise, we reserve the right to make decisions about our business partnerships, and after careful consideration. X decided not to enter into a commercial partnership with the show.” 

CNN WANTS DON BACK?

What’s even more interesting all this controversy has landed Don Lemon back on CNN. You heard that correctly after CNN fired the journalist, they’ve now interviewed Lemon regarding his talk with Musk.
