It’s with sad news we report the death of hip hop legend Shock G front man of legendary hip hop group Digital Underground.

The news was broke by funk legend George Clinton today via his Facebook page. He states.

“Rest in Eternal Funk, Gregory Jacobs, aka Shock G, aka Humpty Hump! Heartbeat props for real!”

He was reportedly found dead in a hotel room in Tampa… according to his father, Edward Racker reportedly. We’re currently not sure the exact cause of death at this time; however we are stunned by the news. This past month the hip hop community has now lost 3 legends in the month of April DMX, Black Rob , and now Shock G of the Digital Underground.

Shock G played a huge part of the start of the rap career of 2Pac Shakur. Digital Underground was known for many hit songs during the late 80s early 90s including the hit songs “The Humpty Dance” , “Same Song”, “Doowutchyalike” and many more. Shock G was 57 years old Rest In Peace. Condolences to his family, friends, and fans.
