Singer Angie Stone Dead At 63
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the tragic death of R&B soul music legend Angie Stone. News broke that the singer reportedly died in a car crash in Montgomery, Alabama, Saturday morning, March 1st, after performing at an event.
According to news outlets, she was with 8 other passengers, which included her bandmates, in a sprinter van, heading out of Alabama when the fatal accident occurred. Stone was reportedly the only person to succumb to her injuries. She was 63 years old.
Angie Stone was a music legend in the R&B Soul genre. She rose to fame as a member of the first all-female hip hop group The Sequence on Sugar Hill Records from 1979-1985. She eventually started a successful solo career in the 90s, releasing several soulful hits, including No More Rain (In This Cloud) and I Wish I Didn’t Miss You.
She is survived by her two children and grandchildren may she rest in peace.
