50 Cent Reacts To Omari Hardwick’s Claims Of Underpayment By STARZ
50 Cent and former Power actor Omari Hardwick seemingly had a strong working relationship during Hardwick’s time on the STARZ series Power. Still, it appears to have dwindled following Hardwick’s recent complaints regarding compensation. During Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson’s recent interview at The Breakfast Club, the Power series creator fired back at his sentiments. He expressed his belief that Hardwick overvalues himself. He suggests the actor has not been involved in any significant projects since the show’s finale in 2020.
“I think he overvalues himself,” 50 told the morning show hosts. “Because…it’s been a long time since he’s been in Power, why are we not excited about the new projects?”
Charlamagne Tha God then asked the rapper, “What new projects? I didn’t know…
“See, that’s what I’m talking about,” 50 Cent continues. “If there was noise going on, if he was that big of a draw, then we would see noise, we would see new things happening, we’d see you out where you’re actively in a place where they’re looking for you.”
50 Cent then confirms they are not cool because, “he leaves it like it’s me not giving you the money,” he claims.
According to Yahoo, Hardwick revealed, during his interview on the Pivot Podcast, that he was paid $150k per episode while portraying the star character Ghost on Power. He expressed he felt the amount was too low for someone he described as “the face of the network.”
“I still haven’t made what I should have made. I still never made the money—no, the money, I never made what I should have made. Never,” Harwick said. “Period. It’s happening now, finally.” Although he spoke on 50 Cent, he seemingly blamed most of his “lowball” pay on the STARZ network.
