The internet streets are buzzing after Yahoo announced that Bronny James, the son of NBA superstar Lebron James, was reportedly not selected during the first round of the NBA  draft on June 26th. NBA fans and critics have been speaking their opinions on whether they think Bronny truly deserves to be drafted by the NBA.

Although his father Lebron is an NBA titan, many have expressed concerns of whether Bronny is skilled enough just yet to take that big step in the NBA professional league.

History In The Making

The biggest topic of discussion is the possibility of Lebron James and Bronny James making history as the first father and son duo to play in the NBA at the same time. Bronny has been vigorously pursuing an NBA career this year, to highlight he worked out with the Lakers and the Phoenix Suns before the draft.

However, was not picked to join either teams 1st round. Yahoo stated the Phoenix Suns, did not have a pick in the second round, allegedly they lost one due to a tampering violation.

Statistics and Obstacles

Bronny reportedly averaged approximately 4.8 points per game while at USC. He also had to overcome a health scare, experiencing a cardiac arrest, from which he thankfully survived and recovered.

Bronny’s Views

In an recent interview, Bronny clarified he didn’t expect special treatment from the NBA league due to his father being Lebron James. He said, “Honestly, I feel like this is a serious business. And I don’t feel like there would be a thought of, I’m just drafting this kid just because I’m gonna get his dad. I don’t think a GM would really allow that. So, yeah, I’ve never really thought about, yeah, no. I think I’ve put in the work and I’ll get drafted because of the person, not only the player, but the person that I am.”
