R&B singer Jazmine Sullivan has won her first Grammy Award today for Best R&B Performance for her song “Pick Up Your Feelings” and she tied for her win with Silk Sonic in a shocking turn of events.

Via Pitch Fork:

In a tie, both Jazmine Sullivan and Silk Sonic(Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak) have won the 2022 Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance. “Pick Up Your Feelings” and “Leave the Door Open” are the winning songs. H.E.R.’s “Damage,” Snoh Aalegra’s “Lost You”, and Justin Bieber’s “Peaches” were also nominated.

After making their live debut at the 2021 Grammys, Silk Sonic released their debut album An Evening with Silk Sonic in November. “Leave the Door Open” is also up for Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best R&B Song.

This is Sullivan’s first Grammy win and 15th nomination. “Pick Up Your Feelings” also won Best R&B Song, and Heaux Tales is nominated for Best R&B Album at tonight’s ceremony.

I’ve never seen a tie on the Grammys before maybe this is something new.
