It seems like Salt-N-Pepa is open to making amends with their former DJ, Deidra “DJ Spinderella” Roper. After their biopic dropped on Lifetime last month, both Cheryl “Salt” James and Sandra “Pepa” Denton are ready to put their drama behind them.

On Wednesday (Feb. 3), Salt-N-Pepa appeared on “The Real” to give a heartfelt response to Spinderella, who claimed that she was “wrongfully excluded” from the film. To begin, Salt said that she attempted to reach out to Spinderella prior to the film’s release. The duo also said that they reached out to her during production regarding a specific part of the movie.

“I feel like it’s very unfortunate,” James replied. “We’ve come to a crossroads where we have decided to agree to disagree. I definitely am open and Pepa’s open. We’ve talked about it and our hearts are open, have always been open to Spinderella. As far as the public is concerned, I’m really happy about the people who know that they don’t know everything. There are six sides to every story. We just hope that we can come to some sort of resolution in the future. You never know. You never know what God is doing.”

Pepa chimed in and claimed that they did reach out to Spinderella during the production of the film. She also pointed out that the biopic mostly focused on James and Denton’s friendship during college. “Yes, Spinderella joined us, a part of it,” Denton said. “We will always acknowledge her contribution that she’s done with us. She will always be our sister.”

On the eve of the biopic’s release, Spinderella felt the need to air out her frustrations with the film’s production on Twitter. In her thread, Spinderella accused the group of “wrongfully excluding” her from the film.

“Back when Salt n’ Pepa was building our legacy, which is rooted in empowering women, I could not have dreamed that this same group would one day disempower me,” Spinderella tweeted. “Words cannot fully express my disappointment when I learned a decision was made to move forward with a Lifetime biopic that wrongfully excluded me from every aspect of development and production…”
